July 17th, 2023

This week is going to be especially short  for our blog post as we have a ton of catching up to do!

MARKETS
Our four day markets are in very much their full swing so keeping up with product has been a "fun? couple days of playing catch up. Needless to say, we are out of everything currently and we shall be making as much as we can with as many hours in the day.
Each market is of course a super fun one for us cause we get to get out there and meet new people...how ever...there is a massive BUT, within the past weekend, and that being the New West Uptown Live event. Last year when we attended it, it rained. It's Vancouver, it happens, we are use to it. But also last year it was so unorganized to manage everything. Floorplans were messed up, load in times were not given, and loading out was about the most realistic nightmare you could imagine of all the people working there sending you to 4 separate entrances, but all of which telling you "no" and to go back to where you started....this year was worse..
Now I'm not one take down an event. I roll with the punches and put my best foot forward in every situation, even if it's a rough market to be a part of because that's what you do as a business professional, and you manage to find the redeeming qualities of it. Yeah, that never happened with this event.
Bath and body care was put beside bath and body care leaving the vendors to essentially compete as neighbors. There was no load in map unless you asked for one, and forget about load in times or a map of where to go. Finding and entrance was just as rough and when the organizer came to yell at me, we explained there was never any info to which we were berated, yelled at, and belittled that we couldn't understand the email...which! In fact, had no info. The event was as dead as one couldn't even imagine a music fest being that dead. To put it politely, before I could even get a chance to deal with the unplanned panic of packing up to leave, myself and the other vendors decided to load out 1.5 hours earlier just to escape the event being a deserted town..needless to say I can't recommend or will we ever choose to go back. But that's enough of the market drama, the rest was absolutely amazing as always, and find out where we are next!
